Nothing Like a Good Book by taffy

Nothing Like a Good Book

In tag challenge #66, I drew night and sculpture. Still waiting for a dry and not frigid night before Sunday's deadline, but decided to improvise with indoor sculptures at night. The 'characters' are each gifts from very dear friends.
I like the way the shadows across their faces make it appear that they are reading at night, and perhaps they are sitting under some larger light (from the way their bodies are more lit) so that what they are reading is lit and they won't hurt their eyes! Nice lighting. And I love how you got the entire background and foreground to disappear by making it all the same color. How did you achieve this effect? Looks like professional product photography in that way.

@jyokota I've figured out how to use a spot in my house with clear glass bookshelves against the wall. If I used the right angle, it gets that effect. Thanks for your comments on all the photos!

@sailingmusic Thanks -- being in literacy education, I love themes that have to do with positive images of reading.
