I'm in an area of Pennsylvania about 2 hours west of NYC for a small conference in a very rural conference center (no phone service, but we do have internet - yay!). The main meeting building is on the site of the original barn and is surrounded by acres and acres of rolling hills and woods, little courtyards and meeting spots all around "The Barn" and pathways. One is a poetry area with a single word on each stone, and a bunch of large flat rocks where people have created temporary poems. All of this has the added color now of gold and red leaves and dying grasses. My contribution was a random stack of word rocks as a stacked rock shot was on my photo bucket list.
Gorgeous peaceful shot - what a wonderful place - looks the perfect place to go to chill out!! Enjoy!! Mind you I can see you are enjoying yourselves by your fab shots!!
@jyokota No poem, just a random stack of words so I could get the scene -- and someone else had already started the stack which is what gave me the idea to create the taller one.
@michaelelliott The contrast has been striking!! Kind of a microcosm of when we move between Chicago and Beaver Island. Almost feels surreal -- like the other area can't really exist at the same time.
This is lovely. Did you write the words on the rocks? What a wonderful idea for a garden. I love stacked rocks as well...nicely composed and so cool you were able to capture it for you album. Love colors and light!
That sounds so peaceful! I love how they have no phone but do have the net. That is getting priorities straight! The stack of rocks are pretty but also remind me of Blair Witch Project movie from a while back...scary movie!
Sounds very nice! Where exactly are you? I'm about 2 hours from NYC too- so now I'm wondering how close you really are! Nice way to make use of the word of the day and the beauty surrounding you.
@olivetreeann We were in Boyds Mills which is somewhere near Hawley which are both towns that I think are very tiny. When we drove back to NYC, I think we were pretty much driving east through western NY.
@taffy Oh!!! I am near Hawley and I think we could have met up on your drive through!! Oh well, maybe if there's a next time! Looks like you had a spectacular tour of the city with ME.
@olivetreeann That's a shame that we didn't know it! We could have done an early morning photo walk before sessions started! You do live in a gorgeous area.
@taffy Keep me in mind if you ever have another conference there or near it. If you look at a map of PA, I am on the eastern side near the city of Stroudsburg. I would love to meet you!
