My only photograph from today. Worked til it was time to go catch my flight this evening. Took this shot on arrival at O'Hare, handheld and now want to find a way to use a tripod unobtrusively to really capture it well. This is the station for catching the subway from the airport into the city (and obviously, the destination for those going to the airport). Designed by Murphy/Jahn -- well known international architecture firm with headquarters in Chicago. Edited heavily to cover up the lack of sharpness. Please do not view large!
Have arrived in California at an airport hotel...leave for Carmel in the morning. 2:00 a.m. my time so must sleep instead of comment. Thank you to all who commented and fav'd my triple sunburst at the ocean shot. It landed on PP and I'm just thrilled.

Wonderful color and luminance. The Monterey Peninsula is wonderful. I hope you have time to photograph Asilomar Beach, especially at sunset, and eat at Fandango in Pacific Grove.
Love that architecture. It's been a long time since I visited Chicago, and your shot invites me to go. I can't believe the colors streaming through the station. It's beautiful
@archaeofrog Thanks Katie! No, this is at the station for the El. The thing tunnel you are thinking of is the one between Gates B and C in Terminal 1 -- the United area. It's definitely other-worldly!
@eyesmile Thanks Gena -- it's a good balance. Work, but with two very close friends, so work is fun, and we're in a beautiful setting! Today we worked as we drove the coast, as we decided we could talk anywhere -- even in the car!
What a colorful shot and sorry that I missed your trip here. Wish I lived closer as it would have been fun to meet up at some point in time. Maybe next time.
@darsphotos Thanks Darlene. I was SO impressed with all the central CA coast had to offer that I really look forward to another trip there. Between the natural beauty, the aquarium, the wonderful restaurants, and the joy of just being outdoors in winter, I truly loved each day there!
@taffy It is such a beautiful drive where you were and further north and south as well. Have driven it but it has been years. I am so glad you were in CA with such nice weather as the coast does not always have beautiful days, hence our drought. You captured what I only dream of as it is hard for me to travel too far. Nice to see it through your eyes.
@cjphoto Thanks for all your visits and comments tonight, Chris! I really appreciate it. Did you hear on the news yesterday about a train jumping the tracks and going up an escalator at O'Hare? THIS IS THE PLACE!!! It was amazing that it happened at 2 in the morning or there would have been so many casualties. As it turned out, about 30 people had minor injuries, no one was killed. But the station is closed for now.
