We are apparently between storms with today and tonight being exceptionally clear. Add to that the almost full moon and it was easy to forget how cold, snowy, and windy it was 33 floors below!
Thank you for your comments on the windy city yesterday. I'll be catching up on comments this weekend, but having given my students a writing assignment, I must turn to responding to them instead of having fun on 365.
Not being 33 stories above the fray, I'm amazingly aware of the continued problems of snow, cold, and wind! I'm glad you are at a height that brings such joyous photos! The moon foretells of more bad weather to come, though, I'm afraid!
@busylady Thanks for visiting and asking about how things are going with the house. We've now entered the construction phase so things are progressing slowly but steadily more or less. Target move-in is early June -- could be as early as May but I suspect not. It's an amazing black hole of time with all the bits and pieces to have to oversee, even with a good construction company! Having our belongings in multiple places also takes a ton of time, but it is now part of our 'new normal.' We do love the temporary condo -- and it grows on us increasingly each day, so while it will be nice to be home, we both have come to realize that a move to an elevator building instead of one with tons of stairs is probably in our not too distant future -- sooner than we had thought.
Heard about the snowstorms in Chicago and Boston on the news today, it's amazing how clear the sky is in your picture. Love that almost full moon shining through the clouds in the blue hour sky with the blue from the sky reflecting off the snow on the roofs- fabulous shot - fav
This is such an amazing shot. I love the clarity of the city lit up and the moon and clouds. FAV I was wondering how your place is coming along. Glad to see that things are progressing along. I could not live without an elevator. Nice to get spoiled and something to look forward to in your future.
By the way, next door to us is now empty as the sheriff and his back up told those living there to leave last Tuesday. It is so hard to believe that anyone could live like that once the Sister went in and we (a few neighbors) went in to help her and support her. Pig pen, so much missing, destroyed, smelled horrid, especially in the 3 car garage that is filled with garbage bags full of garbage, etc. Locks were changed immediately and she will return on Saturday so her brother can remove what he wants to remove as approved by her and then the clean up, painting, repairs begin to put it up for sale.
@darsphotos What an unbelievably sad situation but I'm so glad to read things have finally turned around!
Thanks for the kind words on my photo...and on the house progress. We are excited to see it progressing but just love where we are living now that we have some of our own things here. It really is starting to feel like home -- we best not get too used to it!
@taffy Once the brother is totally out of the picture we will all breath more easily. He and his girlfriend went to the retail store where my son works this afternoon and were looking for him I guess to help them, not really sure. They were so high on drugs, that he had them watched in the store and did not end up helping them.
You are very welcome, your photos are amazing. I wish I had somewhere like this to take photos. Sounds like you guys are in a great place now. I admire you as you have been through something that just does not commonly happen and have handled it so well. Maybe you will find a place like it to live later, well at least somewhere minus the stairs. Home is where the heart is along with our possessions and those we love. Take care.
Congrats on another TT shot Taffy - super shot!! I know I saw this one and commented but I cannot see it. I wonder what I did? Anyway Huge Fav of course!!
