From the Country Music Hall of Fame. I should admit I know almost nothing about country music, and learned a ton while there. These are the shoes of the famous song by Carl Perkins, recorded by many famous singers (e.g., Elvis Presley) (and you can see the original on YouTube with the link below) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRNyvO4QouY
From Wikipedia:
"Blue Suede Shoes" is a rock-and-roll standard written and first recorded by Carl Perkins in 1955. It is considered one of the first rockabilly (rock-and-roll) records, incorporating elements of blues, country and pop music of the time. Perkins's original version of the song was on the Cashbox Best Selling Singles list for 16 weeks and spent two weeks in the number 2 position.[1] Elvis Presley performed his version of the song three different times on national television. It was also recorded by Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran, among many others.
Thanks for your comments and fav's on my fisheye of the actual Hall of the Hall of Fame - much appreciated!
Loved watching the video to put these shoes into context. I saw them when we were at the museum but I couldn't figure out how to isolate how they were presented in the midst of the busy background. Nice processing to focus our attention on how the shoes are presented. And check out the crease to show they were authentically worn!
Great capture of an American treasure. I'm a huge country western fan. Took my Mom to the Grand Ol' Opry many years ago back in the 90's. Had front row seats!
Incredible shot. I remember that song well - one of the first rock and roll songs I have heard even though I was never a fancier of that type of music.
Love the shot, but the information fascinated me. I didn't realise Elvis had hijacked Carl's song. Mind you, they were both right at the top of the genré.
