Today continued the file clean-out and consolidation within Lightroom. It feels like it will never end! And then I keep getting distracted by images -- this one from January 2014 when I was still using Aperture was quit horrible to look at and even worse see that I had given it 5 stars back then. I hit reset and started over and liked this much better. It's part of the lighthouse in St. Joseph Michigan, on the sandy shores of Lake Michigan. The original processing was way too bright, too blue, just too processed.
Thank you for your amazing response to my milky reanalysis and reprocessing. Your responses motivated me to keep going with the 'cleanup' and revisiting of some files that I really didn't know what to do with a few years ago.
Excellent processing. Gee it looks cold though. My daughter Zoe lived in Michigan for a year I don't think she was warm the whole time she was there, ha ha.
That is some ice structure! I definitely need to learn how to process. Sometimes I look at my images out of the camera and think it just needs a little extra something. I love the person over by the lighthouse, gives it such perspective and contrast. Lovely shot.
I like the contrasts amidst what at first seems quite a uniform bit of landscape. What an astonishing place. Sounds like you could be lost in a sea of old photos before too long - but there are worse things to get absorbed into. And we enjoy the benefits!
Sometimes when I discard a picture I wonder if I am discarding something I just haven't found the right way to process. How we get anything done or get rid of any pictures is amazing. I have been reorganizing my scrapbooking kits which I have in a separate Lightroom catalog. It's like house work it just never goes away.
An impressive scene Taffy, certainly portrays the freezing cold of the winter. I look back in horror at some of my processing from a few years back and guess I will do the same in a few years time if I carry on with my photography journey! Guess that's part of the attraction :)
