Peter Ferry was the opening night performer - https://www.peterferry.com - one of two early career soloists that form the two 'gala' performers. I put the link in because he was incredible. I thought it would be an hour or so of drums, and was totally wrong. He's creative, talented, and I am guessing is going to have quite a career. This image captures his last musical move. Then, a standing ovation as he bowed.
It's pretty time consuming as the event photographer, but I'm really enjoying the opportunity to interact with all the musicians. And the access to backstage of course!
Great capture of his final move. I checked your link and I liked his music. Being the official photographer you have the chance to take pictures of the musicians. I used to go to many concerts, before the Covid crisis, but photographing was totally forbidden. Fav
Sounds fabulous. I love the lighting, the moment and the b and w. Iām mixed re the moment covering his face. It definitely makes the music the subject rather than the musician but I find myself longing to seen his face
