Gull Harbor, with the rising lake levels, has been engulfed by water, wiping out what was once the road around the north end of the island. Instead, it's become a beautiful wetland, so great for nature, not so great for those who live along this stretch of the island coast.
Wonderful capture of this gorgeous scenery. I feel sorry for the motorists but happy for nature. You are so blessed to be able to spend such a long time in this beautiful environment.
Oh Taffy we have a similar here where the seawall has been broken and it seems 'they' are letting the land revert back to salt-marsh. I started to document it (tag jrbreach) so will go back and the egrets have already colonised it.
A beautiful wetland, but I understand the frustration of the residents. Your photo is very effective--great lines, contrasts and reflections. It's sobering to read in the comments that so many areas are effected by rising water levels.
