Fizzy Flower by taffy

Fizzy Flower

My get-pushed challenge this week from Michelle @shelldunn is to work with water. This is my second upload for the challenge. What I've learned: (A) water shots are hard! (B) Fizzy shots are not as complicated to set up as bubble shots (but are hard to get to be a good composition), (C) m&m's don't work in fizzy shots as the color drains away from the m&m's so they are ugly, colorless, and too yucky looking to eat, (D) water shots are fun. I ended up processing this one to up the blues and try to make the shot more interesting than it was in the blander clear water.
This was my first get pushed water shot: http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2013-02-18
@shelldunn Here's my second try. Two more I want to try to do: (A) oil and water and (B) bubble shot. I don't know if I'll make it, but I've loved your challenge. Totally new experiences.

Nice choice of colours, as usual your lighting is very good too.

@shelldunn Thanks Michelle! I wouldn't have even been looking for these ideas if it weren't for your challenge. I'm learning a lot.
@kazlamont @fliss Many thanks
@automaticslim I love your 'as usual' -- again, making my day! Lighting is something I'm trying to manipulate more consciously.

@ness50 Thanks! I just bought an 8 pack of soda water today...it was fun and I'm planning to try more.

This is very cool - love the contrasts of fizzy and non-fizzy, and the textures and lighting are wonderful.

@tuesdaygirl Thanks! I lucked out on that, as the contrasts were largely because I couldn't get the flower to sink! Learned from another 365er that she used a skewer to keep s strawberry submerged, and then edited the skewer out. I'm going to try that next.
