It's not been a good week for a get-pushed challenge to feature native animals. Birds haven't cooperated, nor have squirrels or bugs. Grateful not to have any rodents to capture. But not much of interest. Today I had a brief time downtown so walked by Daley Plaza where pigeons can reliably be found at the Eternal Flame Memorial with its natural gas flame that burns perpetually (since 1972) in memory and honor of veterans of all branches of the U.S. armed services.
I did a lot of processing on this photo (taken with iPhone) to bring out the textures in the granite and the metal of the flame. I thought the pigeons looked like the 12/3/6/9 of an analog clock face.
@trudio Sorry for such a banal response to your challenge. I've tried this week and just don't have much to work with, even on a good day. I was going to go to the zoo tomorrow, but we were able to get tickets to the Blackhawks playoffs so that won out. I love what you've done this week -- so that's been my real joy! Thank you!
Those birds look like they are all walking around and around the base of the flame. Great processing here..I would never have picked it as an iphone shot.
Looks as if they are playing musical chairs - without the chairs. Everyone goes around in a circle and when the music stops, sits in a chair or steps on a mat. There is always one less chair or mat than players - and so it goes until there is one left. The pigeons appear to be doing a version of this. :-)
Blackhawks playoff tickets. Lucky you. Of course, I would be cheering for that other team! Nice pigeon shot. Isn't is amazing what you can do with that iphone camera?
Sorry didn't reply earlier but I'm away on a training weekend! This is amazing, well done not banal at all! So glad you liked mine, thank you for encouraging me!
