I've been wanting to create a still life of coffee, given all the wonderfut ones I've seen on the site.
I'm not thrilled as it doesn't have the pizzazz of others that use bokeh for steam or capture real steam, but I like the simplicity of the mug, the white form,and the table and wall -- the blocks. So, I decided to post it in my extras album as my first attempt. Hopefully, I'll get better at these.
@jyokota Haha!! True...JIm needs credit for being the barista and YOU get credit for telling me to buy the foamer for his holiday gift this year. He told me about a week ago (when using it one morning) that it is one of the best gifts he's gotten.
@seanoneill Ah! That's why the shapes in your photos kept making me think I'd seen them before -- I have! Every morning, but just not with the same kind of smoke spewing!
@kazlamont Thanks Kazzy! That makes me feel good, actually. It's hard when I post something and know what I wanted it to do. Your comment made me look at it and not be so hard on it/me. I do like the still life feel to it.
@gerry Thanks Gerry! I wish I had a way to send a sample through ether-waves! Not being a coffee drinker, I can't say first hand, but do know my friends like it when Jim mades them coffee!
@genesis_one I went back and forth on that...the uncropped version has about 1 finger width space at the bottom which I cropped off to make it look more like the mug is sitting on the bottom of the frame. But for the life of me, I can't remember why I thought that was a good idea!
@38dcmoder I don't drink it either, so when Jim makes hot chocolate for me with foam, iti does look exactly like this (but in a different mug!) @timandelke Thanks so much -- Jim has told me I may not auction off his mug! I've been telling him how many folks have liked it. @dreamatrix Thanks DMT!
@olivetreeann I love that mug but it's off limits to me as it's Jim's 'coffee' mug. I don't want him to use 'my' tea mugs for 'his' coffee! And I don't drink coffee either.
:p I like the blue with the browns in the mug.
