One more snake shot from yesterday, just because I couldn't resist. This was such a beautiful one and unlike the others, when Vickey lifted the wood plank, it didn't slither away, but just moved around looking into my lens. I had my macro on and for some reason, wasn't nervous about getting closer to it to try to capture its eyes and little smile. Really, don't you think he's a cutie?
For those who did not read yesterday's info: no snakes on Beaver Island are poisonous, absolutely none, so we could snake hunt without fear. And I don't love them, but they are fun to photograph. I wouldn't want to hold one! But you've all made me feel very brave.
Also, thank you so so much for your wonderful response to the crazy sunset from a few days ago! It's managed to stay on PP for over a day!
Wow! You really got up close and personal with this guy! You're braver than I, but the 'expression; on its face really is endearing. You hit the DoF/clarity nail right on the head! Great shot.
Great capture, I wouldn't say he's cute, I really hate snakes but they do have some photogenic properties. Glad they are not poisonous but I still think you are pretty brave
What a fabulous catch Taffy, love the focus and DoF! We are not so lucky with are snakes as we have some of the deadliest snakes in the world. However I did see a lovely diamond python in my garden last year and am not scared of those.
Thanks for visiting my second photo snake -- I appreciate it since I know it wasn't exactly new! But I do think this one had a neat little smile.
Thank you so much Elaine, April, Junko, Gerry, Colie, and Jason! Who ever would have guessed 365 would get me over any fear of snakes??
