Today was Meet the Artists, an annual event that coincides with Baroque on Beaver. This music festival started 12 years ago with a small group of musicians performing the music of Bach. Today over 70 musicians perform an array of music in venues from concerts at the Community Center to ensembles playing around town. Meet the Artists was started 20 years ago by Sue Thompson who runs Livingstone Studio. It was a very social afternoon where the string ensemble entertained artists and perusers alike. I took this into the trees/light so that the bass player would be framed by bokeh. It was particularly special because Sue invited me to be one of the artists, showing my photos, and three of my photos sold (Stop Blocking My Sun, http://365project.org/taffy/365/2013-07-02; Let's Go! http://365project.org/taffy/365/2013-05-29; and one other not on 365), and one of the potters swapped a bowl that I'd really liked of hers for my columbine photo, http://365project.org/taffy/365/2013-06-05). It was all very wonderful! This will be the last of anything like this for me until possibly next summer. Real life is only a month away, sadly...
Congratulations for getting your photos displayed and sold. It is so rewarding. I love music festivals, this base player has such a melancholy expression, I can imaging the sonorous melody coming out of it. Beautiful.
