We drove by Mount Pisgah today after a hike to Font Lake on Hidden Valley Trail (with our friends who are visiting this week). This is the highest peak on Beaver Island and a landmark place that anyone with kids (or who feels kid-like energy) comes to climb. Made me nostalgic for the days that I would have rather climbed the dune than walk a relatively tame hiking path (no matter how pretty!). Oh well...time does march on. And it gave me a chance to show off another area of the island before we head home in 12 days.
@havrotb@inphokus@janine3 Thanks Barbara (and for viewing large), Kathy, and Janine (thanks especially since I know you know it isn't that easy to capture this well -- I think it was great to have those kids running up it as it gives a sense of scale that is otherwise really hard to convey).
Beautiful, love the contrast between the blue sky and the sand. There´s something very dreamlike softness here, that I like. And it must be great to clinb those dunes, if one does have the energy, lol
Wow, definitely needs to be viewed large -- would not have noticed those kids otherwise! Love the dramatic sky. And I see that the sad summer countdown has begun!
@rachelwithey I didn't stay to watch them come down but am guessing that was the point (if memory of my own climbing experiences there serve!).
@wendyhgill Thanks Wendy, for viewing large. Yep, countdown today -- 11 days left. Sad, sad, sad! Have had to start working on syllabi and book orders or committee stuff already, from here. I want another month of summer!
