I Hear the Blackhawks are Expanding

Driving back from our meeting with the contractor, I wondered aloud in the car if the (world famous) Art Institute lions would still be wearing their Blackhawks helmets. Jim was a good sport and drove me to the loop to look, then graciously said, as he dropped me off, "I'm not waiting...you're on your own getting home...see you there." Oh well...admittedly traffic was horrible and it took forever to go less than a mile. And it did give me time to do a quick photowalk (see main album).
PS -- I know I promised to stop posting Blackhawks related photos but really, it's very hard when Chicago doesn't often get to experience a winning team!

Too too funny! I must send this to my friends who were cheering on the other team. I don't follow, so a week later I only asked if they'd won, and he sighed and said Chicago had. That's how I came to know about why the lion would be wearing such a helmet!

@maggiemae Thanks for the visit. Actually, they have the helmets for the lions and even for the Picasso that is in Daley Square. Some have t-shirts too. I don't know who has created them, or who decides when they get to wear them but I always love it when they are in costume of some kind. The lions also have wreaths for the December holidays.

@paulaw Haha! We hope not! So funny you said that as one of the sports announcers has an 8 year old son. We've won 3 times in the last 6 years (but decades had gone by before that). His son, thinking this is the way it always is, asked if he could go to the parade next year. Mmmm...lovely to be so confident!

That looks crazy! Fun shot- not a big fan of hockey but my dad loved the Rangers and was even hit in the head by one of their pucks! He was quite proud of that scar!
