In Memory of Murray Ball. by terryliv

In Memory of Murray Ball.

Forget Edmund Hillary; Forget Ernest Rutherford; Forget Richie McCaw; Murray Ball who passed away on Sunday was the greatest Kiwi of them all. Enjoy your Slice of Heaven Murray. RIP.

365ers outside NZ and Oz have probably never heard of Footrot Flats and Dog and Wal and Cooch and Horse. You really missed out.

The hard cover volume bottom right is a treasure. 500 pages at 4 strips per page and a ton of laughs on every one.

Does anyone have #s 24-27??
Great one Terry. I actually met Murray some years ago very briefly...such a nice man. I really loved his cartoons. I told him we had a cat called Horse when we were children..and he said it was amazing how many people who had told him that as well. He also told me how one of the big toy companies knocked off his Dog....he took them to court, and won but it pretty much ruined him financially to do it. Such a great cartoonist.

What a great collection. No I don't have numbers 24-27 but somebody on eBay will I am sure.

@onewing They're on e-bay Babs. $80 for #27, $60 for #24 (from memory). Not even I am mad enough to pay that. These last 4 numbers have always been far more expensive than the others. They will probably go up in price even more now.

Obviously a real fan. Well done Terry an excellent tribute to a bloke who gave us so much pleasure. Sorry I don't have any of the books in the requested range but I have had a good giggle for the past hour as I flipped through my collection. RIP Murray Ball. I loved your work.
