Almost There by terryliv

Almost There

Baby male and female King Parrots have the same dull green head and chest as their mother but as the male matures, it develops the distinctive scarlet head and chest.
This juvenile has almost completed the transition and looks - well like a typical adolescent
beautiful colors! And splotchy like a teenager!

Your narrative made me smile. Thanks for that.

He may be "splotchy" but eminently preferable to a wrinkly old weevil and at least this juvenile will become beautiful!

Typical gangly teenage all betwixt and between.

Beautiful birds in all stages of growth and colour.

Don't you hate that in-between time in life as a teenager.

Beautiful, kind of made me sad, my friend lost Dodger her king parrot earlier in the year. He's sadly missed

Pretty soon, he'll be asking for his allowance and the car keys.

I love that vivid red of the males. He is tame already to sit for you.

I have heard so much about you from @M.Brutus, I felt a need to follow. My sister and her family live north of Brisbane so I know the area. She has a sulpher crested cockatoo called Sammy. I love this capture.

@rookynook Don't believe a word he has told you - or in @mbrutus 's case, the 5,000 words.
