Mealybug Ladybird Larvae by terryliv

Mealybug Ladybird Larvae

How to waste a couple of hours: chase hyper-active mealy bugs around a dwarf pomegranate trying to get a decent macro.
How to waste a couple more hours: sort through the 600+ photos (mostly rubbish) you took trying to find some reasonable ones.

I have no idea how this one rates against the rest. Just needed something to post for tonight's entry in the macro bug challenge.

Maybe you should use manual Poppo!!!!!

As they say, one in 600 can't be all that bad. Just wondering if any mealy bugs were injured during this shoot?

I have never seen a mealy bug before. Looks to be in a hurry to get wherever it is going. Great image for your challenge.

I've experienced what you are describing. At least you have proof that your target existed!

I like how you have got such an interesting red green background...very interesting bug!! I certainly know how easy it is to take way too many photos just trying to capture some creature that is tricky...
