Kooka Waiting for a Handout

With all of this seasons babies now with their adolescent plumage independent of their parents and the adults with the new seasons latest fashion, it is becoming quite difficult to tell who's who in the zoo. There is certainly a lot of them hanging around our kitchen window.

I'm pretty sure this Kookaburra is one of this seasons babies or it may be one of last seasons. They lose the stripes after a couple of years.
Feed me - Please!!! So sweet!!

an unusual shot of a kooka! Good to hear there are still a few about, I hardly see them any more.

@pusspup The Birds in Backyards bird count from the last few years showed that the number of Kookaburras is steadily declining. We're doing our best to rectify the situation. LOL
