. . .so I went back to the birds in our back yard. The Pale Headed Rosella is a fairly frequent visitor but are quite timid so it is more difficult to get a good photo. This fellow was eating a piece of corn - hence the foot up to the beak. Can you spot the bit he dropped??
@monkeykid@tahoemb Thanks and yes he is lovely - as are all of Australias parrots/lorrikeets. The Pale headed rosella lives in the north eastern quarter of Australia and is replaced by the even more striking Eastern Rosella in the south east. They are actually larger than this guy appears here - about 35cm long. He was hunched over while he was eating.
As will be evident eventually in my photo collect here on 365, I love parrots. I'll just admit now I'm envious of the beautiful birds you have frequenting your yard. Lovely capture, this photo.
Oh no waaaayyyyy!!!!!! OMG!!! He is absolutely magnificent!!!!! You lucky bugger getting to see such a beautiful bird, wow!!! I am so jealous lol Fantastic capture :-) FAV
