Whales

Day 18: Juneau Alaska
Overnight we sailed from Ketchikan and arrived in Juneau around 6am. For our shore activity, Nanna and I went on a 6 hour excursion called "Bears Whales and Glaciers".
See http://365project.org/terryliv/directors-cut/2014-05-28 for the first part of the story.
We then went to the dock where we boarded a small cabin cruiser and went out looking for whales. Saw quite a few humpbacks and managed to get quite close to this one as he went down for his 6 minute dive. The real stars of the cruise however were the sea lions which put on a real show for us. I think they had all be to school at sea world but unfortunately Sea Lion was not in the title of the excursion. SOOC - no crop
Great capture of an amazing Humpback whale, so totally awesome to see them this close.

Wow! You got to see all 3. Fantastic and a great photo. I'm waiting for the southern right whales to come to Warrnambool but as yet they haven't arrived. Some have been spotted along the great ocean rd, Portland and even in Port Philip Bay!!

Great shot. The whales are travelling up the coast at the moment here too. I expect you will see them in Brisbane too.
