Totally uninspired again today until we had a great surprise with the visit of two immature Pale Headed Rosellas. You can tell they are juveniles since the breast feathers have not developed their full blue colour and are still a motley blue and grey. Also when they come in to try for a snack, they flutter all over the place as if they cant work out where or how to land.
Another pointer is the fact that they have not yet learned that they are supposed to be afraid of the Rainbow Lorrikeets. Note the evil eye the RL is giving him. Ha Ha Ha
Almost certainly, they are this seasons babies of the pair of PHRs who have become very regular visitors to our back yard. I feel like a grandfather again. :-)
Nice capture Terry.Fav We have 4 that fly in but are very timid.I am going to build a feeder come perch for them and others so that i can hide and get some decent shots
Stunning - I've never seen the juvenile coloring - really quite pretty and against that lorikeet the contrast of colors is super.
When I said small 1.8 aperture guess that should have been large - anyway it lets in more light (about as technical as I get) so I can shoot a faster speed without as much noise by having to up the ISO.
