Ya Gotta Luv Outback Humour

We have (finally) left Coober Pedy.

William Creek, population 6 (2001 census) is 170kms east of Coober Pedy on the Oodnadatta Track. It consists of a pub, a petrol station, an airfield and a camp ground and is surrounded on all sides by desert with just a smattering of stunted trees following the creeks. Nevertheless, the fire truck stands ready to deal with any emergency. And if this is the No 1 fire truck, I would hate to see the No 2.
To top it all off and something I hadn't noticed in this shot previously, that is a parking metre just to the rear of the truck. I wonder where they snaffled that from. Ha Ha Ha

PS Rhoda has just pointed out to me that the parking metre is actually attached to the truck. That makes it even funnier LOL

Love their sense of humour - and the parking meter tops it off :)

Great find and fun shot. Like that there are solar panels attached to the booths and another in the background.

Haha, love that parking meter! I guess with a population of 6, there aren't too many building to protect.

I love their sense of humour - especially the parking meter! I wonder if they have a loud siren when going to a fire!
