The Road to Nowhere

Day 21 - Daly Waters to Barkly Homestead

As you travel south on the Tablelands Highway, you leave the tropical savannah and enter the tropical grasslands of the drier Barkly Tableland. The only sign of civilisation we saw on the 380km drive from the Heartbreak Hotel to Barkly Homestead was a few head of cattle wandering along the edge of the road.

Some people may find it boring looking at this for a couple of hundred kilometres but I just love the nothingness.

And somewhere up ahead is the Barkly Highway and our bed for the night.
