Froggy by terryliv

Froggy

This was going to be my pic for yesterday but Maggie bumped it. We have very few frogs around our place and these are the only ones we see - occasionally. I cant recall the last time I saw a green frog. I'm not good at frogs but Prof Google thinks this is either a Freycinet's frog or a Rocket frog.
Looks a lot nicer than a cane toad. Great shot.

I agree with Kane much better than a horrid cane toad, this guy has great markings, is he slimy or just wet?

@karlow75 @dianeburns DEFINITELY better than a cane toad. The thing is I wonder how many of these poor guys get killed by people who think they are a small cane toad. He was wet. My wife fished him out a bucket of rain water that he had managed to get trapped in. Sometimes we fish them out of the pool.

Nice frog Poppo. We have plenty of green frogs, they love hiding in amongst the bromeliads and agapanthus leaves :-)

@terryliv that reminds me of a video from tropfest a few years ago. If you don't mind a bit of squashed cane toad humor check this out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8dDXb0cBXM it makes me chuckle every time I watch it.

Great shot! Thought you would have had lots of frogs in Brisbane - but guess you can blame the cane toad!

Great shot, we hear them here but I don't see them, lol!

He's a handsome fellow. I especially like his clever little fingers.

@hermann @karlow75 @gilbertwood @trudi @teiko @digitalrn @moxy @mvangent Thanks everyone. I think the lack of frogs here is definitely a result of cane toads but also where we live in Bris. However, we also get very few toads

I stopped by the other day for a peek at this frog pic but never left a comment because I went off in search of info on the cane toad that would explain its lack of a fan club in AUS. Or anywhere, for that matter. Sounds like it should've been left in its native land... Sad to think of the losses due to its out of control appetite.
