I said last night that the toad secretes a poisonous milky fluid from glands on its shoulders.
I stirred this one up using a stick to keep flicking him back onto the lawn where I could get shots of him and you can see the result. He has puffed up his body and adopted a much more aggressive stance and the poison is now oozing out of the glands
