Australia's dingo fence is the worlds longest fence. It extends 5,614 kilometres from Jimbour on the Darling Downs in Queensland and ends on the cliffs of the Nullarbor Plain on the Great Australian Bight. The purpose of the fence is to keep dingoes out of the sheep grazing lands to the east and south of the fence.
This was taken just out of Coober Pedy. Love the horizon line
@janiskay Apparently yes Janice. I actually asked the same question of the tour guide. It obviously requires constant inspection and maintenance to repair breaks, most often caused by wild camels but also inattentive kangaroos who can jump over it provided they see it in time.
The netting extends back out from the fence for about a metre to prevent dingoes from digging under the fence.

Wonder if it works like the rabbit fence :)
