Still at William Creek.
This is what stage 1 of a rocket looks like after it returns to earth from 50kms. Actually, I think it looks surprisingly good. They didn't use parachutes did they?
It comes from a British Black Arrow rocket that was fired from nearby Woomera rocket range to put a satellite into orbit in 1971. The rocket was recovered from nearby Anna Creek Station.

The rocket is well intact however I'm glad nobody was underneath it as it landed!

Very interesting, that could have caused a lot of damage if it had landed in the wrong place. Great find and capture.
