Big Red 7 by terryliv

Big Red 7

I love the silky look of these sand slips on the leeward side of the dune that seem to have resulted from someone walking along the top of the ridge line earlier in the day.

(Birdsville sits on the eastern edge of the Simpson Desert which is probably the closest to everyone's perception of what a desert looks like - lots of sand and lots of dunes.

As you travel west from Birdsville on the QAA Line track, the dunes start almost immediately. 40kms from Birdsville you come to the highest of the dunes, Big Red and everyone's favourite for testing their 4WDing ability and that of their vehicle.

I am going to apologise in advance for the number of shots of Big Red I post but I took a heap and I love most of them. The place is very photogenic. When I start to have people un-following me, I'll know it's time to move on. :-)
