Just a Walk in the Park

Day 24: MtMcKinley Lodge - Talkeetna - Denali
Went back into Talkeetna (again) in the morning to visit a sled dog kennel.
And this is how they train for the Iditarod. The dogs are hitched up in front of a "buggy" which drives along at about 10mph - just a bit slower than the dogs want to run which means that they are always pulling on the leads to go faster. Of course if you can manage to con a few tourists into paying to ride in the buggy, you can actually be paid to do the training.
I forget the name of the musher but his best finish in the Iditarod is 15th which apparently is very creditable.
They look kind of tired
