Prison Tree by terryliv

Prison Tree

My first theme entry. This Boab tree in Derby Western Australia is known as the Prison Tree as the local police used its hollow trunk as a holding prison during Derby's early days in the 19th century.
Taken during a trip through the Kimberley region in 2013
Now I have heard it all! A tree that was a prison! CooL!

Interesting story about this interesting tree. Very good shot of it. The blue sky is pretty behind it and sets off his branches and love the fence around it and the beautiful green trees and shrubs. Lovely. FAV

I hope to get this far next time we go. We were at Wyndham just recently. What a fantastic old tree, it would have been nice to have someone near it for scale because I imagine it is huge.
