Day 10 - Emma Gorge 5 by terryliv

Day 10 - Emma Gorge 5

The head of Emma Gorge with Emma Creek tumbling 65 metres into a permanent rock pool.
The last 250 mtrs from the first rock pool in yesterdays pic to the head of the gorge was very difficult (well for us old folk anyway) and involved a lot of scrambling up some pretty steep rocks.
The water inn the pool was surprisingly cool (under 20deg) but there was a thermal spring flowing in on the right so the trick was to swim through the cold water to where the warm water was. But hell it was bloody cold.
To answer your question from yesterday: No we didn't go for a swim in the first pool but Yes, we did go for one here.
(No photo of Nanna in the water as we didn't have our swimmers and she had to strip down to her knickers and top to go in.

On the map at http://365project.org/terryliv/from-the-archiv/2015-01-06 this is shown as Day 11 and it should be Day 10.
