The top photo is the Hotel Tascherhof where we stayed in Tesch, just a short train ride down the valley from Zermatt. Our room was on the top floor on the right.
The bottom photo is the view from our balcony of the Alps and Klein Matterhorn, the rocky pimple centre right. You can see the cable car station just below the peak.
I am only showing this to tell the story that we were sitting up on the balcony admiring the view, me with a couple of beers (Lowenbrau at AU$1 for a 500ml can) and Rhoda with her scotch (also very cheap) and coke and eating a packet of mixed nuts when Rhoda said "This is what I always imagined retirement would be like." Ha Ha Ha If only!!!!
