Not everyone’s cup of tea, but we love it.
Well captured!

I found out that building is called Rotunda, what is Brum?

A great design and well-captured, Lesley, with the moon as a bonus!

Heheee... there's the moon.
About the composition, i think this is the first time since i've been into photography that i thought it would have looked better if the tower was not right in the middle. But it might not... it just occurred to me.
I really like the colours.

@kjarn It is the Rotunda, Kathy. For some reason we are particularly fond of it and even prevented it being demolished as part of the Bullring refurbishment. Brum is Birmingham. People from here (me included) are known all over the country as Brummies. 😊

@monikozi I know what you mean and I had the same thought. It is where it is as it allowed me to get in all the bits of the city that I wanted in the same shot. We had come out of the main railway station and were commenting on the fact that this is a view only Brummies would appreciate - the back of the Odeon cinema (where I saw such wonders as The Jackson Five, UB40, and Rod Stewart and many others back in the day); the Rotunda, underneath which was a pub called the Mulberry Bush which was one of two pubs in the city which was bombed by the IRA in the 70’s with many lives lost; then the moon and super-blue sky over the new Bullring shopping centre. I agree that at first sight it appears to be a very boring shot, but I promise you that a lot of thought went into it 😊

@365projectorgheatherb Thanks Heather

I don't doubt that you had a purpose. I've seen your photos before.
I was more surprised by my reaction. I usually don't see the rules - applied or broken.
And anyhow, one photograph speaks differently to every pair of eyes that sees it.
The background information you provided is really interesting.

Thanks for the info Lesley

@monikozi Ah thanks. I’m glad that you said something. I’m relatively new to this and am still picking up tips and learning so much. I should probably have put that background info in the notes 🙄 . Thanks again for your help.

Smashing. So glad it was saved. I love a bit of classic postwar architecture and don't like to see thoughtless losses (though it sounds like the rest of the old bull ring postwar centre isn't a loss? I didn't know it so can't comment ).

@boxplayer It wasn’t great, to be fair. Underground tunnels, ramps and escalators joining various disjointed bits. The new one is very well thought out and easy to move around…even if a number of the shops are sadly closing…

Nice capture! I have only ever been to the train station on route to elsewhere!

I don't like such buildings. These windows scare me the most. They're so cold and off-putting.
