The Art Institute has been one of the favorite destinations for my daughter and I since she was five years old. In those first few years we would go to the gift shop first, and she would chose and buy a postcard. Then we would search the museum to find the piece of art she had chosen, and our reward would be a trip to the cafe for something deliciously sweet.
Now my daughter is 18, and we still go to the Art Institute at least once a year. Today's trip was for the Magritte exhibit, and yes we had something ridiculously sinful afterwards.
We did outings like that too, but our rule was that the gift shop was last otherwise we wouldn't see anything else! Fantastic shot to, love the motion of the people.
@graemestevens Thanks Graeme. My theory was if we went to the gift shot first then only getting a postcard, then bribing her with cake for after meant I was getting of easy. I am sure nutritionists out there would lecture me,but I don't care everyone needs cake :)
What a fun thing to do and that'll be a fun memory your daughter will always have. Love the movement you caught and the whole composition, just a super shot.
Cool, cool capture. From the Magritte sign to the movement of the patrons. Black and white is perfect, and I love the tall nature of this. a fav for sure
brilliant b&w, gives a good sense of movement
Traditions are great!
Love the image.........hope your daughter settles into uni quickly
Great composition.
