I can see how, think it would be my inclination too. It's still a cool shot, especially on black. Great clarity, I like the reflections in his sunglasses and the fur trim.
It is still a very good shot. I might like it even more with the right hand strip cropped off. This would leave a better balanced photo and the hooded standing figure echoing the hooded seated one. It's a matter of taste.. I don't claim to be right!
@yrhenwr The funny thing is I did an edit pretty much what you described and then spent about an hour trying to decide what edit to go with. I liked this one because of the progression of the three characters, and the other one because of pretty much what you said, and then left the final decision to the toss of a coin. Sometimes it is harder trying to figure out what to post than it is to take the shot in the first place...thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it :)
wonderful candid capture... the editing is excellent... hmmm... while it would have been braver to have had him facing you, I'm thinking the side view likely makes for a more intriguing shot... nicely done either way :)
@northy and @candidzen I think my ideal shot would have been with his face a 1/4 turn more towards me (I think it might be a little too hidden in the fur). I was taking shots of the trains as they pulled into the station, and at one point he did give me the upwards nod so i think he would have been ok about me taking a shot if I had been braver.
I don't know, I think I prefer this to if he were looking right at you. Just his gaze off into the distance almost leaves more to the imagination of what he's doing/thinking. Just love your street shots.
I'm not sure I would have been braver!

great shot
