This is the first random shot I have taken since April when I finished my "no fillers first year" here on 365. I have to say that at first it was a relief to not have to find something to shoot and post each day, but as time has passed I have started to miss the discipline and routine of finding something to post daily and have struggled to keep posting, so it was fun to head out with my camera this afternoon in search of something that caught my eye and intrigued me. I liked how this green shoot was growing between a post in a fence.
As you can see, I had a terrific photo opp over the weekend and can't let my project have these shots omitted (but it is kind of a downer!). Still, year 2 lets you be much more creative on the timing.
@rosiekerr I have just finished looking at your shots and am blown away by them. I decided tonight that if I have a series of shots to post over a few days then I will, but if I do not then I need to get my you know what out there with my camera and find something, I do like the discipline of posting here every day and intend to get back to it, I miss it!
@ukandie1 Well, your shots are really a terrific contribution, but don't let me guilt you into more than you can do. I comment when I can, try to get out there really often, take advantage of cool opportunities as time permits and try to remember to breathe. :) Glad you liked the "pen tour."
@jetr Thanks Joan. It was fun to get out and look for things of interest in my neighborhood again, something I have not done in a few months, and something I have realized that I miss.
Interesting exchange on the thread...and I agree re the balance between being able to be more relaxed and missing the discipline of a daily image. I do a bit of both now...like the idea of a series once in a while too. This one works well -- great lighting and color, as well as contrast of nature and object.
@candidzen It is not so much that I miss the discipline of having to take a picture every day, but since I finished a year of taking a shot everyday I have been struggling to get out and about at all.
