I have enjoyed recent shots of @vignouse and @pistache where they have featured small roads that disappear around a corner. Being a Brit, who grew up in the countryside, but now lives in the big US city of Chicago I miss those rural and small town roads, however our strict north/south and east/west grid lines offer their own appeal...in what is known as an urban canyon!
Just love the title!! Awesome in B/W . I've also heard big towns called Urban Jungles, I think Canyons works so much better and it looks like you are at the bottom of this canyon!!! Super composition! FAV!
Excellent start to finish. Fav. The curved bridge hardware in the foreground immediately made me think of a nickname by Carl Sandburg (a poet) for Chicago: The City of the Big Shoulders.
And this urban canyon capture is wonderful with the el in the background, the cars coming right at you, and the sweeping lines of the bridge in the foreground!
What in the world were you doing standing in the middle of the street????? Crazy person! But what a great result. The canyon feel and the immediacy of the danger from traffic comes through. And the classic L in the background -- great.
