I went to the Hancock Tower with @taffy this evening, and for those that don't mind heights, you can be tilted at an angle of 30 degrees 1000ft above the city. Neither of us did it as we were there to take advantage of being able to use a tripod from 6-9pm, normally you cannot even take a tripod into the building, and as a bonus it was half price for Chicago residents!
Fabulous shot. Love the silhouettes and the stark contrast. Still some details are visible. Huge fav. (I would love to be tilted above this great city)
Yes awesome!
Would love to do this...and lucky you for getting in with a tripod. They should do that here in London.
I'm going to the Skygarden soon and that will be handheld!
Thanks @stevecameras ! If the glass goes down to the floor you could prop your camera on a bag and shoot that way, the biggest problem we had was with the reflections, especially once the sun started to go down, I had a black scarf with me and Taffy used her jacket, that definitely helped,
Looks amazing on black, awesome shot, fav! What a great opportunity to use tripods there! I don't think this was there 20yrs ago because I know I would have done this, I would still try it now.
@juleshoogstraanderson Thanks Jules, it is a new thing and only on a Monday, I am not sure how long it will last so we wanted to make use of it before the summer crowds, when I think they will stop it.
@tosee Thanks Tom! I am using it 95% of the time now. At first it was just so I could get used to it, but now because I love the sharpness and quality of the images, as well as the convenience of its size it is my go to camera. So far I have not had a problem with the screen, but I can see that in the height of the summer on really bright days it will be a bit of a challenge. I have been reading up on zone focusing and I think that will be the way to go with my street shots.
And thanks for the vote on "something old"!
