TBT #6...Monsters in the Mist!

Taken on one of our very foggy days last year, the older building in the foreground is the Wrigley Building, and the one hit with the sun trying to break through the fog is Trump Tower. Apparently a popular shot on Instagram at the moment is of selfies with people flipping it the bird at the Trump Tower...I wonder why?

This style of shot is something I would like to work more on, not totally happy with this, but feel it is a starting point.

Throwback Date! 6th May 2015
great image, I almost feel you should see King Kong at the top!

Not happy with this? I would be dancing on the table if this was mine! This is a superb example of fine art B&W imagery. It's incredibly evocative and links the past and present of the city in a dramatic fashion.

Oh, you want a Fav as well as praise? OK ;-)

The photo is very artsy and wonderfully different. And you have been on long enough that different is hard to achieve.

Awesome!!

The trump tower is like himself shiny and smooth, but with little substance beyond It's own reflection. The Wrigley mean while is classical, solid, dependable. Great shot.

Jo
Great shot.

@vignouse @tosee Thank you gentlemen! I have found myself looking at and enjoying fine art black and white architecture shots recently, and studying those who do it very well, Hence me being hard on myself. Like I said it is a start and I am happy with it in that sense, especially as a year ago I had no idea what to do with this shot, but I want to do better. I am lucky that Chicago gives me a great backdrop to experiment with.

I think this is really excellent, in so many ways. I really love the way that the fog gives a glow to the the light. Your midtones are very nuanced. Great job. I tried to find a way to shoot that Wrigley Building, but to no avail.

@jack4john has it right, the phoney balonley trumpster is nothing but fluff. The Wrigley Building is solid and strong. This is a wonderful image.

@joysabin @jack4john Alas, Built just like every other modern high rise today.

I agree with @vignouse , if it were my shot, I would say that I would have to wait another ten years to match or exceed it. Unless you had an unlimited special effects budget.

It foreshadowed how ominous it is!

Fabulous processing Andie! A wonderful pov with the strong building in the front and the other one fading into the background or is it exploding? So very atmospheric and so timely! Fav!
