@jgpittenger I think my post was a little misleading. I live on the edge of the city in a largely residential single family home neighborhood. Finn gets two walks a day, which I would miss dearly if we could not. However what he is missing out on is his weekly trip to the dog park to run around with other dogs, and getting to socialize with other dogs he sees when we are out for a walk. Technically it is illegal to let your dog off of the leash in Chicago (but they never enforce it), over 95% of the time when Finn is off of the leash his recall is great even around other dogs, but every now and then he will spot another dog and for what ever reason he goes deaf, so I am being conscious of that right now.
