arashiyama kimono walk by vankrey

arashiyama kimono walk

My version of the photo that @taffy shot to TT the week we were here in Arashiyama. This was an unexpected find, and such a stunningly original usage for old kimono cloth, which was wrapped in plastic tubing and illuminated. Still breathtaking as I look at it all these weeks later. We couldn't have asked for a better timed rain, either, giving the pavement that warm glow.

NOTE: So having filled up all 3 of my June albums chronologically with my favorites from the Picture Japan trip, July 1-12 will be my non-chronologic favorites. I realize how overwhelming this is to your photo stream, and greatly appreciate if you've taken the time to comment on my recent flood of photos, but the end is in sight!
I love seeing how two talented photographers photograph a scene. Wonderful light and reflections.

Really awesome shot. The warm golden glow being cast off the cloth and on the pavement is truly remarkable.
