There is an Emily Hermant installation at the Evanston Art Center. Her work is beautifully graceful. She uses large strips of 2x4s soaked in water and creates whimsical shapes that evoke dance and movement. I was particularly intrigued by the bright orange clamps used to balance the pieces. The vertical pole at the back of this image is a broom handle from her studio.
Wjhat a wonderful capture of the piece -- gracefully shown with the fading curve, powerfully anchored with the strong colored clamp. A nice contrast that adds up to intrigue for the viewer.
