Framed (cropped top + bottom version)

In the courtyard of the local academy of visual arts. Too bad there was nothing to climb up onto, and with my "height" I didn't have as much space on top of the tree as I wanted (framing it better within the blue), but nonetheless...
As always, I will be happy to read your comments, reactions, opinions and critique!
I like the tree against the blue background. I think it would be a more powerful image if you cropped the top at the top of the scree and the bottom a the bottom of the screen.

Agree with Bob, though would rather crop the top and both sides till stanchions, BUT keep the bottom intact.

Thanks, @bob65 and @roulin !!! You both got right to the point - there was so much "cropping" for this image before I posted it, not being sure how to better go about it. I tried a tight "square" crop just leaving the X-s in the picture, but hen the tree looks very "unnatural" growing from nowhere. and looking kind of too close to the edge on the top. I can try and edit it here, as an experiment to see what's the reactions would be.

Now that I look at it, I really want to have foot or more of height, or come back with a stepladder to add blue on top!

Really eye catching. Like you, feel I need a stepladder sometimes!

This is quite cool. Like the reflections, the symmetry, and the unique tree! Fav

I like this one very much. Like it would be painted. I like the blue colour and letter Bs in the background.

Very interesting capture!

I like the crop. It brings more attention to the reflections. I love the blue paired with the red tones in the tree!

@vera365 I agree it begs for more background at the top, but still feel it is better than the original . If time is not an issue, you could always clone some of the background to the top of the frame. Alternatively extending the canvas at the top with a matching blue should do the trick.

Thank you so much, Ann, vstap, Vanesa, Danette and Kathryhn! @flowerfairyann @vstap @vanesa_365 @danette @katymac80
Bob, I see what you mean about extending the background or adding the matching blue. Practically speaking, it still goes beyond my abilities though - something to learn in the future! Thank you for all the input!

@cejaanderson
Thank you, Jane. I am glad you liked it. It was a more difficult one for me, as I am not a "square" kind of person, so working with that shape was a bit of a challenge.

I like this image; it looks simple from a distance but when you look closer, details emerge that you didn't see before. It looks almost looks like a graphic poster.

I like the shape of the tree and the square blue for the back ground. Cropping is always a challenge.

Thank you very much for your comments! I do like this cropped version better than the original one (with bits of real world around - snow on the ground and some building on top). I also like those details, Bruce @brucep! And the shapes just went together. So thank you for stopping by and commenting, and thank you for the follow, Cindy @cindyloo !

Lovely shot. Fav. I love the colours and the squareness of the tree. Interesting to see the comments re cropping - I quite like it as it is. But am trying to think about cropping much more myself. Along with a thousand other things. 365 is sure keeping me busy :)

@pistache
It surely keeping me busy too, I think my family will start complain soon, as everything I talk about currently concerns photo opportunities, ways to photograph this and that, discussing other pictures and asking them to help me to pick the picture of the day. Plus, in the evening the standard question to me became "Do you want to watch a movie or will you bee on the 365 site?" So, I am glad I am not the only one whose brain is occupied by all things new and excitant.
To the picture, Clare - it is the cropped version, I cropped it in PickMonkey (if you have an ace membership you can make adjustments to the picture after it is made). It had some snow on the bottom and a part of the building that was sticking up on top, now cropped away, making it more decorative and graphic. I am glad you liked it! @pistache

This is my favourite colour combination. I like the framing, although you wrote you wanted it a bit differently, it looks very interesting like this.
