It's that time of year in Ludwigsburg: the yearly early ticket sale for the new season of the "Blooming Baroque" gardens and castle grounds.
In those almost three years that I've spent there, I learned that for everyone in town, it's an official start into spring. The main mall in town gets decorated just like the park is going to look like in a couple of weeks (No kidding! They really make the grounds blooming with flowers rotating almost each month - from spring blooms, to summer ones, to fall flowers towards the end!!! And the ROSES! And the Rhododendron! And and and...).
Sorry for the long description, but it is such an event here, and - as you can see in the background - everyone from young to old - lines up to get their beautiful laminated season ticket to get in and out of the park at any time of the day and week. For the next half a year, the life is going to shift from the downtown to the park and be filled with straw and pumpkin festivals, concerts, exhibits, kid days, trips to the "Fairy-tale-garden", antique car shows, fireworks and so on.... Can't wait!
As always, I am happy to read your comments! Thank you for visiting.
@quietpurplehaze You would love it! One day, my little son fell asleep in his stroller on the way home through the park, and I had about 2 hours and a camera - I made pictures of over 70 different species just in that time (doesn't say much about the quality of pictures in this case, but the variety was so impressive, and I never realised how many flower types are actually there until that day!). Thanks, Martha! You are right! I was thinking the same thing after unloading the pictures - that a sharper focus throughout would have been better. It was tricky for me - I wanted to get the people in the background out of focus for sure, and in-camera I didn't see that clear that I need to include more flowers into the focus. But alas, that was all the time for pictures today, otherwise I could have stopped there again and retook it. Balancing 365 and life is tricky, especially if you realise there is a fix to some kind of problem, but just because of lack of time you are just going to let it be. :)
@persnickety_doctor
Thanks! You are in Germany too, as I saw in your pictures! Göttingen? University? Bummer, we are going miss the actual Easter in Germany this year, but we are going to soak up the time just before that.
beautifully colourful shot. I tend to agree with Marta but that doesn't detract from the wonderful burst of colours and you still get the sense of variety, wish I could visit.......
John - there is little "natural" spring stuff around, but since the park is such a significant part of the city's image, they also take care of many decorations throughout the town, planting flowers and making arrangements. So, thanks to that, it starts to look more and more like spring. No sign of leaves yet though.
Ann, I am happy I live right next to it, as I myself am not a gardener. So, having an abundance of beautiful plants around without doing anything for it except for buying an annual pass is an ideal option for me! :) I am going to miss it when I move back to my grass lawn.
Shirley, I am still amazed at the idea that here on 365 you meet so many people who have such different experiences at the same time. This project definitely made my world feel bigger!

I am glad you liked them! Yes, I only made this album public, otherwise I think you have to be "friends" to comment. Send me a friends request, if you want to - that is, if you are not afraid of updates on well-being of random kids :)
@jackbenton Thank you, Jack! It really attracts attention of everyone in the mall, and is a great ad for the upcoming season. You just can't pass by without noticing, and I am glad that colorfullness came through in the picture.

Thank you so much for your comments! Let the picture spread even more spring mood - highly overdue already!
Thank you - all your photos are lovely. Tried to leave a like/comment but couldn't - perhaps because I am not a friend - yet?

Rachel, you will definitely see stuff from there in my pictures! And I love that spiky swirly plant too.
