Watching the Ducks by vera365

Watching the Ducks

It was a great evening at the Monrepos palace near Ludwigsburg. Somehow pictures taken near the water always look better.
I also want to thank everyone so much for your support and comments - I was so surprised to see the car show picture in the TT for the last week. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!
Fantastic shot! Love those arcs and lines. All-around nice. If they are looking over the water, the water is probably reflecting light back into their faces, which makes a nice, natural fill light.

I'm not a great one for commenting on children shots - but this is superb! Seen on Trending! Fab capture!

Great interaction between the boys, then the light on them, with the pattern of the iron work being the icing on the cake.

@desertaura @bob65 @vstap Thank you so much! That's exactly one of the reasons why I liked this photo - apart from light on that little bridge, I loved the repeating patterns in the both railings, which gave the image structure, without making it too heavy. I am glad you noticed it too.

@calimama80 Oh, that is a real compliment from you! I adore it in your pictures that they capture those sweet moments of interaction between the kids. Unfortunately, with mine ones it doesn't happen too often, as the older is just starting to discover the little one - two completely different personalities and views on life between these two. But the more treasured the moments are when they do happen to interact or just be "together" at the same place in the same time and the same dimension. Thanks!

Thank you all so much for the comments of the two kiddies on the bridge! I was happy to capture the moment where they were just there "on their own" and have forgotten all about me while watching the ducks. Thanks!

@phil_howcroft @lsanderson55 @pistache @sueb47 I am so happy you noticed the light. It was one of those "photographic" moments where you see it, and all your body tenses up like when a hunting dog sees a duck, and you just quietly tell you kids "Why don't you guys go ahead and stand on that bridge. I will be right there with you!" I am glad it worked out. I now think I could have also used fill-flash, but I was pretty far and with some light reflecting off the water, you can still see their faces. Thank you for your visit and comments!

Красавцы! И момент замечательный. Ветка мешает, жаль. Highlights чуть подтянуть бы еще.
