Northern Hemisphere. November. Spring Blooms. First Snow.
The title says it all. Recently, the trees started their spring blooming thinking the warm and sunny November would mean no winter at all, and today - we got the first snow. Although melted already.
Thanks for visiting!
Hi Vera -- We're partners this week. Such a lovely juxtaposition here. We've heard about your warm November even over here. I love the museum arches picture, btw. Challenge: photograph something that represents Purity. But not an abstract picture. If you don't like that, I'll come up with another challenge.
Amazing capture with the visible snow and the pinkis blooms. Great light too. This is most probably Winterschneeball (Viburnum bodnantense). This plant can bloom as early as November and the blooming goes on, up to March, April. They can bear a lot, and are very robust, so no worries. At least not for this kind of shrub.
I got so busy, I never thank you all for your wonderful response to the snow/flower picture! It was fun capturing it: I was first taking pictures of it as there was no snow and then moved on. But as the snow shower came, I felt I should race back to the flowering bush to try to capture the same flowers with the falling snow, and I was happy I managed to do it before the snow calmed down a bit. Got a lot of snow/water on my camera thought, and into my zoom, but everyone survived. Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting!
@mona65 Thanks, Mona! You amaze me with your knowledge about plants and animals sometimes - well, often, actually! I am glad to know those will be fine over the winter - I was kind of worried.
