As a high-school student, my husband did an exchange year in Germany and since then (about 20 years now), he and now we do not fail to receive a package of home-backed German cookies around Christmas time from his host-parents. Now that we are in Germany again, we just stop by their house to pick it up. From our trip to Heidelberg last weekend - home-made cinnamon stars and other variety of Christmas magic.
I've just realised they were also a part of my project about a year ago, http://365project.org/vera365/365/2014-12-23 and I like this new version more: it helps that they are in a golden-colored box, which seemed to act as a reflector. Also, I was very happy to realise that back then, it took me half a day to decide what and how to photograph, and today, after almost a year of taking pictures, it was a 5-min affair on a busy day.
Thank you for visiting! I very much appreciate your opinions and input!
What wonderfully sweet people they are for giving him cookies for 20 years. He must have made quite an impression. These are beautiful. Bet they are tasty. How long since he last saw them...as a high school kid?
What a great picture of cinnamon stars. Fav. @jothan Kerstin is right. Best "Guetzli" (as we say) ever, ever, ever,... We have even a song here in Switzerland "Zimetstärn, han ich gärn, Mailänderli au,.. (it goes on the melody of Jingle bells).
Oh how sweet they are, visually but I'm sure also deliciously! :) How special that he is not only in touch with his host parents from then, but that there is still that bond! :)
