Oh my, thank you so much! I haven't expected such a positive response to this photo - it was a very quick and spontaneous trip to the Monrepos palace between me dropping the kids off at school and breakfast. I was just hoping to be fast enough before the night snow melts away.
As far as the credit for this symmetry and lines and perspectives, they should very much go to the garden planners of the 18th century! They knew how to design a stunning view in their gardens. What I am dreading though looking at this picture is our move back to the US - there will be no royal parks, no palaces for a quick photo stop????
