Ok, you got me infected with that one challenge a week thing. So, here it is - a selfie. I got a lot of strange looks from people who saw me first focusing on a plain wall, and then running to it and striking all kinds of poses. The focus could have been better, but for now, it's as god as it gets. Any opinions and critique are highly appreciated!!!!!!
Thank you so much for visiting.
Hahaha your comment made me laugh! I'm now imagining all these poses you were striking 🙅🏼🙆🏼 it's a lovely photo, and I think the focus is great. It's nice to put a face to a name.
Hi Vera, nice to see you and I like your little mischievous grin. :) I tried this a while back with a fence and did the exact same thing, running back and forth and hoping for the best. I was lucky that the fence was in my backyard, with no one to watch. I like your dof and choice of b&w. Great shot. :)

I know you guys all did selfies this past week - whether as a part of the 52-week challenge or just because. If you did is as a part of a challenge - can you remind me which one is this and where I can find the list of the tasks. I think I need a little kick in my photography to move forward a bit, and I would like to stick to it for the rest of the year. And also - if many of 365-er would like to participate in it, it would be a nice thing to have a tag so that we can see and share all those photos. Should we start a discussion thread so that whoever wants jumps on board and we all tag the photos in the same way? I mainly saw the selfies of the people on my thread, I am sure I missed some.
A great shot and focus. I can understand why you got some strange looks! As well as being known as the mad dog lady I'm now to be seen taking photographs of rusty drainpipes and other strange things. Most of the locals think I've completely lost the plot!
someone started a discussion i think on this. if you want the link on the 52-week challenge, it is in the blurb on my last selfie. a common 365 tag is an excellent idea. goid thinking!
I like what you did with the wall and jacket as background and frame. It is hard to get yourself in focus. You are on the right track. Focus on an object and then go stand there.
I am certain some of my neighbors wonder what I am up to. Especially when they don't ever see the photos. Keep them guessing, I say.
For mine this time I focused on objects held in front of the camera. Set the timer and backed up a step keeping the items in the same location.
That's a beautiful self portrait. And I find it very courageous of you to do in public. I still struggle with how much attention a camera in public attracts.
Great to put a face to the photographer, Vera. Excellent portrait and I like the idea of you focusing it....It has to be the most difficult challenge, but you had a great subject to work with..
Thanks for sharing the challenge, I've snuck my new year's eve selfie in for week 1, now I've got to do a landscape, which is something I really struggle with.
